The Problem With Stethoscopes

The stethoscope is ubiquitous in the hospital environment.  As well as this it is used by general practitioners, mechanics and safe-crackers.  They have been around for ages and are a clinical boon.  Unfortunately there's a problem with stethoscopes; the earpieces.  Despite being sturdy stethoscopes are generally let down by their earpieces.  They are often uncomfortable, unhygienic and short-lived before tearing and falling off.  This can be embarrassing if it is during a consultation.

ZenPlugs Fitted Stethoscope Earpieces are the answer.  They are custom fitted to each ear at home in a few minutes.  They are the only stethoscope earpiece kit in the world and there is nothing like them on the market. They are a dramatic improvement on the standard earpieces issued with your stethoscope.  Made in a few minutes at home they use a unique thermoplastic resin developed for the purpose.

Resilient and antibiotic they kill the germs your scope picks up whilst on the ward round.  They keep your ears squeaky clean and free of infection and inflammation.

Otitis externa from stethoscope use often starts with mild itching and soreness. It may advance to a full-blown ear infection if left unchecked. Redness, swelling, pain, weepiness, bleeding and blocked ears are all signs of ear infections. They mean you need to visit your doctor for an examination, diagnosis and treatment.

Treatment usually consist of antibiotic drops containing gentamicin or another antibiotic.  Sometimes drops such as Sofradex are used. These contain a steroid to reduce inflammation. They also contain an antifungal such as vinegar (acetic acid).
